Travis Kelce, Jason Kelce react to Fox's Tom Brady, Greg Olsen conundrum

It turns out that Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce is among football fans feeling a little upset about how Fox replaced lead NFL analyst Greg Olsen with living legend Tom Brady. 

"I love my guy Greg Olsen," Kelce said during the latest edition of the "New Heights" podcast that he co-hosts with brother and retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, as shared by Jenna Lemoncelli of the New York Post. "They kinda did him dirty over there at Fox. But I mean, it’s Tom Brady, what can you do? Sometimes you just gotta do your thing. And Greg does a [expletive] tremendous job."

Brady and Fox reportedly agreed to a 10-year deal worth $375M for the seven-time Super Bowl champion to become the network's No. 1 NFL analyst beginning with the 2024 season. 

On Tuesday evening, Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post noted that the previously mentioned Olsen will be relegated to Fox's No. 2 NFL announcing team. Olsen will call games alongside play-by-play broadcaster Joe Davis. 

Meanwhile, it was reported earlier this spring and confirmed on Tuesday that Jason Kelce will be part of ESPN's "Monday Night Football" programming later this year. 

"I try not to be biased against the commentators and the color guys, but I think Greg is phenomenal at it," Jason added during the segment. "You can tell he makes it a point to know what he is really talking about. … I think he’s got a beautiful blend of knowledge and experience to unleash when he calls games. It’s a joy to watch Greg call games or listen to it."

Outspoken FS1 personality Skip Bayless is among those who believe Brady will excel in his new role beginning with his Week 1 assignment in Cleveland. Travis and Jason both echoed Bayless' take. 

"He’s the greatest quarterback of all time," Jason said about Brady. "He’s going to be able to share his insight, what he thinks about the game. He’s going to be sharing what was going on in his head while he was playing. … I can’t [expletive] wait for Tom Brady to call games and he’s gonna kill it."

Some still question whether Brady is fully committed to completing his Fox deal. Others think he could un-retire again and play for a handful of games if a championship contender needs an emergency quarterback in December or January. 

For now, Brady remains on track to take Olsen's chair even though the 46-year-old also wants to purchase a limited stake in the Las Vegas Raiders.
